What’s PEV Mafia?

PEV Mafia is a not-for-profit organization created for electric vehicle (PEV) riders who want to leverage collective buying power discounts & benefits typically reserved for large businesses. By joining, members gain access to internal group resources, and can purchase discounted health benefits, warehouse memberships, phone plans, and more - all while being part of a tight-knit community of like-minded enthusiasts. All resources are reinvested back into the group to maximize value for members rather than generating profit.Individually, securing benefits like group insurance plans, bulk retail memberships, or business-level tech services is difficult and expensive. As a collective, PEV Mafia negotiates and unlocks these opportunities for members, making essential services more affordable and accessible. Whether you’re a contractor, work for a small employer, an entrepreneur or work with a company that doesn’t offer these perks/benefits - this group provides the ability to share resources and opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach alone.

PEV Mafia is a not-for-profit organization built for electric vehicle (PEV) riders who push the limits of aggressive, high-speed urban riding. With risk comes the need for protection, and as a collective, we secure affordable access to accident coverage, health benefits, and group-rate services that individuals simply can’t get alone.Much like yacht clubs or racing teams, we unite under one banner to ride hard, stay protected, and maximize our opportunities. By operating as a 501(c)(3) organization, every dollar goes back into the community, fueling better events, stronger benefits, and exclusive member perks.Riding at this level demands organization, discipline, and shared resources. Together, we negotiate, safeguard, and grow — proving that as a group, we achieve far more than we ever could alone.

Membership Benefits

PEV Mafia provides members with exclusive access to critical health protection benefits, discounted phone plans, wholesale club memberships, shared PEV resources, and exclusive repair/service discounts; allowing each member to tailor their benefits based on personal needs. Limited affiliation benefits exist for all participants, while complete membership perks & benefits are included with a sponsorship of $60/year.Sponsored members create the opportunity for shared PEV acquisitions and communal resources, along with funding shared subscriptions. Fractional costs are afforded to participating vendors/affiliates for ongoing discounts and offerings. Any remaining funds are reinvested into community assets or events.

Honoring Lost Members

Every rider who joins PEV Mafia becomes part of a living history – our community remembers and honors all who have ridden with us. Whether through shared experiences, photos/videos, etc – no member is forgotten. Our bond extends beyond the ride, with commitment to establish community tributes like park benches on pathways, as memorial markers in honor of fallen comrades from our end of the PEV world.By remaining an active member, your legacy is cemented in our shared experiences, events, and the continued growth of our organization. Lawfully Exempt

Eligible purchases made through the organization for demonstration, group rides, and shared experiences can qualify for tax exemptions. Make your large scale electric purchases with/on behalf of our group – for evaluation, testing, and resale – fully sales tax exempted. Saving 7% with friends goes a long way. Brand Naming

PEV Mafia is a tight-knit, structured community of electric vehicle (PEV) riders who operate with discipline, organization, and shared purpose. The term “mafia” represents strength, loyalty, and collective power, much like industry unions, fraternal organizations, or private member clubs. Our 501(c)(3) not-for-profit status ensures transparency, legal compliance, and reinvestment into our members.Some may question the name, but many businesses and organizations use “mafia” symbolically to represent strong alliances (e.g., “Tattoo Mafia” or “Marketing Mafia”). We exist to organize, protect, and provide access to exclusive group benefits—not secrecy or misconduct. As a structured organization, we ensure responsibility, accountability, and a positive impact in our community.

Open to Consideration, Built for Impact

The name PEV Mafia has been met with strong support from many in the community who see it as bold, memorable, and empowering—a name that sparks conversation and demands explanation, making it impossible to ignore. It carries a sense of strength, unity, and collective action - representing the organized, structured, and member-driven nature of our group. While some may have concerns about corporate scrutiny, the intent behind the name is clear: it symbolizes a powerful & unified collective.

That said, this organization is about collaboration and collective decision-making: The final brand should reflect the strength, purpose, and identity that best serves all members. If there’s a name that holds even greater recognition, remembrance, and righteousness, then it deserves consideration. The directors and members will decide what represents us best, ensuring the brand we build is one that carries weight, respect, and impact—regardless of the name we choose.

Wait, Another Group?

PEV Mafia is not another ride group—it is a structured leadership body that represents the collective interests, safety, and well-being of all riders in the community. While many existing groups like St Pete Float Fleet, Palmetto Lithium Cartel, and Land Surfing Saturdays host great ride groups - they do not serve as an officially recognized organization to address broader issues, govern ride standards, or establish a unified stance when needed. This organization would serve as an elected moderation for groups willing to participate and abide in such a union.

Official Organization

By assembling a board of respected, experienced appointees, PEV Mafia ensures that major community matters, safety concerns, and conflicts are addressed objectively and fairly. Board members, elected by the community, will step in when necessary to resolve disputes, guide policy, and protect the integrity of the riding community. Individual ride groups remain independent, setting their own terms, while PEV Mafia provides structure, advocacy, and access to exclusive member benefits for those who choose to join.

With no other unified body in place, now is the time to establish leadership that will strengthen, protect, and empower the PEV community for the future.

How Membership Works

Members only pay for the benefits they choose, ensuring flexibility and affordability. As a not-for-profit, all proceeds are reinvested into the community, maximizing value for everyone.

Much like a condo association or co-op, PEV Mafia functions as a community-driven organization that provides value through efficiency, shared resources, and bulk purchasing power. This structure allows every participant to maximize their return on investment—not just through services, but also through access to a tight-knit, resourceful, and engaged community of like-minded PEV enthusiasts.

Leadership & Governance

PEV Mafia operates as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a Board of Directors consisting of at least five members, elected or re-elected annually. Board members oversee financial transparency, member benefits, and group operations, ensuring all decisions align with the community’s best interests.An Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held to review operations, financials, and leadership roles, with all major decisions documented for transparency. Members can nominate and vote for board positions, ensuring fair representation. Leadership ensures financial sustainability, compliance, and reinvestment into the group, while day-to-day operations focus on benefit management, event planning, and safety coordination.
